whatever lola wants, maybe use this for final? start of slow, then break into a more structured dance?

this one is totally different, its the cat in the hat dance thing, I was looking at the footwork...the part after 4.51, I thought we could maybe use some of these bits....i had to turn the mute on in the end!

Mood Boards

Desert + Character Mood Board (fairly old)

Alleyway Mood Board

Two incredibly relevant animations

The Box Man

Set wise I think this is the sort of feeling we should aim for within the streets and alleyway. The sounds are also very inspiring. What do you think of including a similar water effect in the gutter?

Also has some really cool sets, and the characters movement is exactly the sort of thing we should aim for in my eyes.

Character Designs

Some drawn character designs, used water colours to see what colours would suit the character. I then also made some little trousers to show which materials I mean. The material i used for both pairs of trousers are canvas, one i painted with water colours, which i think will eventually peel off, and the other just already sewn on pieces of felt.

my set experiment.

Becky Berry:
This is for a team production I am currently working on called "The Busker", it is a 90 second stop-motion piece. So far for this piece, I made all of the clothing for the puppet, which I really enjoyed, and under camera all the hard work really paid off!
I didn't really think about how hard making a tailcoat would be, I kind of cheated as it just has one tail, only to make it easier to animate. My first maquette for the coat basically told me to do my research, but i managed to get hold of a tailcoat pattern, and low and behold I managed to make my first coat...shame it doesn't fit me!

i decided to make a maquette of the two scenes for our animation. Hopefully the desert scene will be made out of card, and the sand, well...hopefully sand!...For the alleyway, its going to be painted, with more materials and texture added to it. Also the alleyway is set at dusk, so the sky is just going to be light enough to see, and the street lamp will give the affect of a spotlight on the character.

set research, desert!

paddington bear, stop motion character with illustrated background.
desert, ideas for desert scene
need an object maybe in the desert? this weeping tree?
this is only to show what i mean by layering the set!...NOT the colours, or the cartoon affect.
a more complex set with card, i think this will look good with the desert set.

background.

for the background was maybe thinking something like the illustration style of Paddington bear.
Simple, yet still interesting and lovely.

or even an more illustrative background, like Lucinda Rogers
